Faculty Certificate in Teaching & Learning (FCTL) - Mastering the Art of Teaching and Training
As part of our teaching skills development initiative, LLI offers Mastering the Art of Teaching and Training to educators across the country. This 3-day program aims to This 3-day program aims to polish your skills to create better learning outcomes, design effective formative assessments, conduct active learning strategies, collect student feedback, among other skills. Our flagship Faculty Certificate of Teaching and Learning (FCTL) program is now available for customization upon request by universities. Currently, we are offering the Teaching Skills module via MTA. Universities interested in a week-long, tailored development program are encouraged to contact us.
Signature Pedagogy
LLI’s Signature Pedagogy Program is a collaboration with CES and aims to bridge the gap between industrial practices and university level teaching. We select pioneer faculty of Pakistan to lead these programs as they understand the professional and educational landscape.
- Case Based Pedagogy is a workshop that adopts a powerful approach that enables educators to engage students in active learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving within a business context.
- Machine Learning & Data Science for Educators is a 2-day workshop that aids in the understanding of the fundamentals of AI and Data Science and their applications.
Healthcare Professionals Development
The Healthcare Professions Education has been launched in collaboration with the Health Services Academy (HSA) which offers healthcare professionals a transformative opportunity to refine their skills and excel in the art of teaching and training within the dynamic healthcare field.
Diploma in Digital Health (DDH)
The Diploma in Digital Health (DDH) at LUMS is Pakistan’s premier digital health education program, offered in collaboration with Health Services Academy (HSA) and Shalamar Medical and Dental College (SMDC). This one-year, 18 credit hour hybrid program is specifically tailored for healthcare professionals who aim to lead in the rapidly evolving world of modern medicine. The curriculum follows the internationally recognized DECODE framework, equipping participants with expertise in telehealth, electronic health records (EHR), data governance, and AI applications.
Certificate in Health Professionals Education (CHPE)
CHPE has been launched in collaboration with the Health Services Academy (HSA) which offers healthcare professionals a transformative opportunity to refine their skills and excel in the art of teaching and training within the dynamic healthcare field.
Diploma in Healthcare Ethics and Professionalism (DHEP)
DHEP is being offered in collaboration with the Shalamar Medical and Dental College and addresses basic healthcare ethics and professionalism issues. This one-year diploma is UHS Approved and tackles challenges today’s healthcare professionals face, covering clinical ethics, research ethics, leadership, and professionalism.
Legal Professionals Development
The Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL), in partnership with the LUMS Learning Institute (LLI) and the Pakistan Bar Council, offers professional development programs that integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into legal education and practice. Designed to bridge the gap between theory and application, these programs equip participants with future-ready skills. The workshops combine advanced pedagogical training with core legal subjects, emphasizing practical methodologies such as the FIRAC (Facts, Issue, Rule, Application, Conclusion) approach across areas like Commercial Law, Constitutional Law, and Criminal Justice. By blending innovative teaching strategies with emerging technologies and real-world case studies, the programs enable legal professionals to enhance their teaching and stay aligned with evolving legal frameworks.
Designing and Teaching Effective Law Courses: Pedagogical Training for Legal Academics
The Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL) and the LUMS Learning Institute (LLI) have partnered with the Directorate of Legal Education, Pakistan Bar council to offer a 3-day training in pedagogy, course design and the use of generative AI for instructors of law from around the country. Three iterations of this workshop have trained 50 legal educators and we look forward to continuining this collaboration.
Artificial Intelligence beyond LUMS
LLI is committed to providing a lifelong learning experience which includes keeping up with the latest AI tools and anticipating their impact in teaching and learning. For this purpose, we have designed and delivered a number of programs in AI.
Artificial Intelligence for Working Professionals
Our AI workshops extend beyond academia, welcoming professionals from various industries, including managers, specialists, and CEOs from organizations like Nishat and IST. Participants have left satisfied, with 92% in one workshop feeling their concerns about AI were addressed. Notably, 45% who initially hadn't engaged much with AI tools expressed intentions to use them daily and efficiently after the session.
