Student Support
The LLI actively works to advocate for and amplify student voice at LUMS. Students are engaged as partners; co-creators, co-researchers and co-developers through various programs. The Student Support vertical engages Students as Partners and Teaching Assistants to build their capacity for collaborating with Faculty to improve course delivery and design at LUMS. Currently, we have three programs available.

For Teaching Assistants
TA Professional Development Course (TAPDC)
The online Teaching Assistants Professional Development Course (TAPDC), a collaborative effort between the Learning Institute and LUMSx. This online asynchronous course is designed to prepare and enhance students' skills as Teaching Assistants at LUMS and is open to all students planning to apply for TA-ship.
Teaching Assistant Advisory Group (TAAG)
The Teaching Assistant Advisory Group (TAAG) is a pioneering initiative aimed at fostering excellence in teaching and learning through enhanced support for Teaching Assistants (TAs) at LUMS. It is consisted of experienced TAs which are instrumental in mentoring peers and creating professional development opportunities for their fellow TAs across LUMS.
Faculty Certificate in Teaching and Learning
The Certificate is a professional development program designed to help PhD students not only build skills and confidence, but also develop their knowledge and practice of teaching. The Certificate has been designed around a range of opportunities, both synchronous and asynchronous, which will help PhD students to explore, practice, and implement a variety of pedagogical strategies, engage with scholarly Iiterature, and reflect critically on approaches to teaching. Join us to become self reflective teachers and enhance awareness of other pedagogical practices by engaging in discussions about teaching. This FCTL will provide you with well-rounded professional development for a teaching career in higher education.
Less than 40 contact hours are required to complete this certification over the span of two years.
To be eligible for this certificate, it is advised that PhD student complete one opportunity per module, along with two additional workshops of their choice that are offered by LLI under the ambit of any of the module(a).
