TA Professional Development Course

The online Teaching Assistants' (TAs) Professional Development Course (TAPDC), a collaborative effort between the Learning Institute and LUMSx. This online asynchronous course is designed to prepare and enhance students’ skills as Teaching Assistants at LUMS and is open to all students planning to apply for TA-ship.

  • TAPDC gives students a competitive edge when they apply for TA-ships. The TA-ship application on Zambeel is linked to the course, allowing faculty members to verify students’ participation. Curious about how it will appear in Zambeel? Click here to find out.
  • It is especially recommended for sophomores and juniors.  

 

Course Structure:

The TAPDC is structured into six comprehensive modules, covering:

  1. Communication: Enhance your communication skills and understanding of academic integrity.
  2. Constructive Feedback: Identify strategies to provide constructive feedback.
  3. Course Management: Utilize strategies for assisting instructors and managing classes.
  4. Tutorials: Learn how to develop tutorials.
  5. TA Wellness and Ethics: Explore important topics like reporting harassment, and maintaining TA mental health
  6. Navigating LMS: Understand and utilize LMS features effectively.  

 

What to Expect?

  • Lessons and scenarios to prepare you for TA-ship-related challenges.
  • Self-paced, bilingual content (Urdu and English) with engaging videos and quizzes.
  • A certificate of completion
